What is Pediatric Physical Therapy?

Pediatric physical therapy helps children move, play, and grow with confidence. Whether a child is recovering from an injury, has a developmental delay, or needs help building strength and coordination, physical therapy is here to support them every step of the way.

Our physical therapists work with kids to improve things like balance, walking, motor skills, posture, and flexibility. We turn movement into fun through play-based activities that help children reach their full potential—at home, at school, and on the playground.
Simply put: we help kids move better so they can feel better.

Common Injuries:

Physical Therapy is used to treat a wide range of injuries. Here are a few:

  • Sprains & Strains

    • Physical therapy helps restore flexibility and strength, often using hands-on techniques like soft tissue mobilization to break down scar tissue.

  • Overuse Injuries

    • Therapists design programs to address muscle imbalances and biomechanics, helping athletes return to play safely.

  • Fractures

    • Physical therapy is essential for regaining range of motion, strength, and function after a fracture heals.

Early Physical Intervention:

Therapy often includes play-based exercises and activities that build motor skills, flexibility, and endurance. The goal is to help children move as independently and confidently as possible—whether that means learning to crawl, walk, run, or participate in sports. Early intervention is especially important, as it can greatly improve long-term outcomes in a child’s physical development.

Pediatric Physical Therapy:

Pediatric physical therapy helps children achieve their highest level of physical function and independence. It supports growth and development by addressing challenges such as poor posture, muscle weakness, balance problems, or recovery from injury or surgery.

Therapists use fun, engaging activities to motivate children while improving strength, coordination, and mobility. They also teach families exercises and strategies to continue progress at home. By promoting healthy movement patterns early, physical therapy can enhance a child’s confidence, participation in daily activities, and overall quality of life.
